Gorgeously Wed & Ever After - Your Weekly Dose of Zen.
We headed over to the Museum of Modern Art this weekend and checked out the traveling exhibition of The Cut-Outs by HenriMatisse. I have been wanting to go for months since the exhibition started at MOMA, but we finally went yesterday and we were not dissappointed. In fact, it was jaw-droppingly beautiful. The Matisse Cut-Outs were created by Matisse at the end of his career. He suffered much pain in his later years and due to his arthritis, had his assistants help him with his Cut-Outs. Yet, as simple as it may seem, the colors were a true inspiration. Diane von Furstenberg even mentioned that her collection had been inspired by the Cut-Outs. I would post some photos from the collection, but unfortunately, cameras were not allowed! What a bummer. I would have taken lots of pictures and blown them up. Vibrant and fun, the Cut-Outs were everything you could imagine Matisse would do. Thank you Matisse for such a gorgeous series.
To learn more, visit the MOMA in New York City while the exhibition is here. The exhibition ends February 10, 2015. The following photos are taken from the MoMA website.
